Description

City Post, located on Poyle Manor Lane in Stanwell, was built in 1861 and is a Grade II listed structure. This building marks the limit of the City of London’s jurisdiction over the Thames and, in this case, the River Colne, which is also referenced in relation to Colnebrook Bridge. The post is made of unpainted cast iron and features a square shape with chamfered corners, a cornice, and capping. It displays the City shield along with a legend from the Act of Parliament below.
