Description

Buckside Cottage, located on Church Road in Caversham, is a 16th-century building that has been altered over time. It features two storeys and an attic, constructed with a timber frame and colour-washed brick infilling, topped with an old tile roof. The east front facing the lane showcases two tile-hung gables, each with a two-storey angular bay that contains modern five-light casement windows. The central entrance has a plain modern porch with brackets and a small two-light casement window above it. A central chimney with oversailing capping and a star plan is also present. The north and south fronts display tile-hung gables and irregularly placed casements, with the south gable featuring a slight gable over the ground floor.
