Description
No 63 on Southampton Street is an early 18th century, small, 2½ storey house built of grey brick headers with red brick quoins and dressings. It features a tiled roof with a catslide at the rear and a tall chimney, along with one gabled dormer. On the first floor, there is a tripartite casement window to the left and a panel to the right. The ground floor includes a segmental-headed former door with flanking windows. The house has flanking rusticated quoin pilasters made of red and grey brick, although the right-hand side has been altered. There is a rounded corner extension to Crown Street (No 50), likely built in the 1860s, possibly around 1840, which has three windows and a hipped tiled roof. Additionally, there is a two-window extension to the north. This building is a good example of early 18th century brickwork.
