Description

St Anne's Well-head and drinking bowl is a structure likely originating from the medieval period, with its current form probably dating to the mid-19th century. The well is now dry. It features a circular brick construction that includes a stone tablet and a drinking fountain, which was added in the early 20th century. A tablet indicates that the well was once a site of pilgrimage due to the believed healing properties of its water. Below the tablet is a disused drinking bowl. The well-head is topped with an oval-section iron grille and an iron cross, and it has a stepped base.
