Description

Tattenhoe Hall Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century to the 18th century, which has been altered over time. It is constructed of brick with a projecting plinth that is rendered, and it features an old tile roof with flanking chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has a double pile plan.

The east front, facing the garden, has three bays of sash windows set in reveals with flat arches. There is a central door with a four-centred arched head, which has six elaborate panels with quadrant corners and a lion knocker. The west front, which faces the yard, has two irregular upper windows; the left-hand window is a sash, while the right-hand window is a four-light leaded wood mullioned and transomed casement. To the right is a projecting gabled one-storey and attic wing with a loft door to the upper floor, and to the left is a smaller one-storey wing. These two wings are now connected by a modern glazed lean-to addition.

The north front features double gables with large chimneys on the gable ends and some modern casements. The south front is also double gabled, with a chimney on the east gable and a two-pane sash window to the left, along with one bay of sashes with flat arches on the west gable end. Inside, there is a staircase with turned balusters that extends the full height of the house, along with good mahogany doors.
