Description

Westbury Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 16th century or early 17th century and was largely rebuilt in 1670, with later alterations. The structure is timber framed with brick infill on the east wall of the south wing, while the rest is made of brick. It features tiled roofs, a brick gable parapet and kneelers on the east side, and a large chimney stack at the center of the main block, which has modillion capping and four rebuilt diagonal shafts. There is a similar stack with two shafts on the southwest side of the south wing. The building has a catslide roof and is arranged in an L shape, with two storeys and an attic. The main block has a first-floor string and a moulded cornice that extends around the east gable. A datestone in the center of the ground floor displays "E.S." over "1670". The south wing features two-light casement windows with segmental heads, while the main block has flat arches. The door at the angle of the two wings has finely carved panels. There are large modern additions to the northwest.
