Description
Digby Cottage and Heron Cottage are two cottages that were originally part of a row of seven, dated 1738 and altered over time. They are constructed of rubblestone and feature a thatched roof with three stone chimneys. The cottages are one storey with an attic and have six upper windows, which are 2-light casements that rise into the thatch. Four of these windows belong to Digby Cottage, while two on the left are part of Heron Cottage. The ground floor windows have been altered, and there is a garage door on the left side. The remainder of Heron Cottage has been re-roofed with pantiles and altered, which is not considered of special interest. These cottages were built by George Wright after he emparked the Gayhurst estate between 1738 and 1739.
