Description
No. 11 Common Street is a cottage that was formerly two cottages, dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is built of coursed rubblestone and features a thatched roof. The left side of the building has two bays and is 1½ storeys high, while the right side has two bays and is two storeys high. The left part includes a right-hand board door and a left-hand two-light casement window, with two additional two-light casements on the upper storey cut into the thatch. Small windows flank the door, and there is a stack to the left and behind the door, creating a 'lobby entry' plan type house. The right side has a central board door with a modern hood supported by brackets. It features leaded two-light casements, except for the first-floor right-hand bay, which has three lights. The building has flanking stacks, with the left one made of stone.
