Description

Colchester House, located at No 26 on Olney High Street, is an early 19th-century building that has been altered. It is constructed of stone with a slate roof and features flanking brick chimney stacks. The house stands three storeys tall and has a central six-panelled door set in a panelled recess. This door is framed by a doorcase with flat oval Ionic columns that support an entablature, which has a bead and reel bed mould along the cornices. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted stone bay windows from the 19th century, each topped by a five-pane wide sash window on the second floor.
