Description
This is a reinforced concrete sentry post, also known as building 67, located just inside the northern side of the southern boundary of the Lodge Hill compound. It overlooks the enclosure to the north and the southern approaches. The structure is a one-man concrete shelter, approximately 2.5 meters high and polygonal in shape with eleven sides, featuring a shallow domed roof. The walls are about 30 centimeters thick and built in sections of approximately 60 centimeters. The roof is constructed using a corrugated former. There is a low protected concrete crawl porch on the southern side, with the doorway facing southeast. Unlike other examples, the interior does not have a metal lining plate. The space inside is extremely confined, allowing access for only one person. There are five very small vertical slots that serve as observation apertures, designed to minimize the likelihood of shrapnel entering the interior during an attack.
