Description

No. 365 High Street is a house with a shop, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The front is made of brick, while the sides and rear are weatherboarded, topped with hipped roofs covered in concrete pantiles. The building has a double-depth layout with a rear wing and a closet wing positioned at the angle between the two. It stands three storeys tall and features a regular five-window arrangement, with vehicular access beneath the two left-hand window bays.

The front has a parapet with brick coping and a cornice band that slightly projects over the strip pilasters dividing the upper floor window bays. The second floor has four 9-pane sashes and one 12-pane sash, while the first floor has 12-pane hornless sashes set in reveals beneath flat window arches. To the right, there is a late 20th-century shop front. The left-of-centre door surround is projecting, featuring a deeply recessed round-headed doorway with a panelled door and a fanlight above.

The rear is entirely weatherboarded and has 16-pane sashes, mostly hornless, in raised surrounds with weathering. The closet wing contains a small Gothick sash window. Above the vehicular entrance, there is a large two-light window with a balcony supported by cast-iron brackets, and a trellis-work canopy beneath a concave profile gabled roof.
