Description
Alverstone Bridge is an early 19th-century bridge constructed of tooled ashlar stone. It features one large round-headed arch on the south side, which is supported by stone voussoirs and a keystone. There is a smaller similar arch on the north side. It has been reported that there are two additional small arches to the north, but these were concealed under nettles at the time of the survey. The bridge has a parapet made up of three courses with triangular-headed ashlar coping, and there are three square piers with pyramidal caps on each side.
