Description

The monument to Amelia Cox is located approximately 1 foot south of the tomb of W Cromwell at St George's Church in Arreton. This early 19th-century chest tomb is made of stone and features a rectangular shape with a moulded base and top. It has fluted pilasters and shell ornamentation in the corners of the panels. The original inscription on the tomb is worn, and it is possible that Amelia Cox, who died in 1831, is not the first person buried here.
