Description

44-46 Pyle Street is a late 18th-century, three-storey building constructed from gault brick, featuring banded quoins. The slate roof is concealed by a parapet and a central pediment, with a moulded wood cornice and a fluted frieze. There is a block sill course on the second floor. The building has seven windows, with the central three projecting forward; these are recessed sash windows with glazing bars, block sills, and flat brick arches. There are remains of an 18th-century shop window frame, but the shop fronts are mostly modern. However, the wood doorcase remains intact, featuring engaged flutes, Doric columns, a plain frieze, and a modillion cornice.
