Description
This is a tithe barn located adjacent to Mottistone Manor, dating from the early 17th century and restored in the 20th century, likely by Seely & Paget. The barn is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar quoins and features a tiled roof that is gabled on one side and hipped towards the road. It has a deep plinth and a central stone waggon entrance with a four-centred arch, which has been restored at the top and includes three ventilation holes on each side. The side facing Mottistone Manor includes two modern dormers and two brick buttresses. Inside, the barn has an angled queen strut roof with through purlins, although the roof structure itself is from the 20th century.
