Description
This drinking fountain, designed for horses and dogs, was erected around 1920. It is made of granite and features a large rectangular trough with a chamfered base supported by square pillars, intended for horses. Below this, there is a low rectangular trough for dogs. At one end, there is a flattened curved stone with a semi-circular bowl for human use. The taps were missing at the time of the survey. One side of the fountain has the inscription "Be ye merciful," while the other side reads, "To the horses and dogs who also bore the burden and heat of the day 1914-1920."
