Description
Merrie Gardens Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of stone rubble, while the first floor is made of red brick featuring black headers. The building has a thatched roof topped with a central clustered brick chimneystack from the 17th century. It stands two storeys high and has three windows. The windows on the top storey are mullioned and set within segmental brick arches, while the ground floor features 20th-century windows. A brick stringcourse and a cross-shaped iron tie are also present. The central doorcase is framed by a cambered stone surround.
