Description

Clevelands Lodge is a lodge, dating from approximately 1820 to 1830, originally associated with Appledurcombe House. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a steep-pitched gable-ended slate roof, originally likely thatched. The roof is flanked by large, external, stepped stacks with tall, paired, diagonally-set, heavy capped chimneys. The north front has three windows, with stone mullioned casements of two lights. A central gabled two-storey porch features a small stone oriel window to the first floor; the ground floor of the porch was originally open but is now glazed in. Flanking ground floor windows are rectangular pent-roof stone bays with three stone mullioned lights. A small oriel half-dormer with lozenge glazing is located on the rear elevation.
