Description
The stables located to the southwest of Wolverton Manor date back to the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and a reroofing in the 20th century. They are constructed from ironstone rubble with dressings of Island stone. The roof is currently covered in corrugated iron sheeting. The building is one storey high with attics in the gable end.
The northeast elevation features two stone mullioned windows, one ground floor wooden diamond mullioned window, and two obtusely pointed stone doorways. The northwest elevation has a deep plinth and blocked mullioned windows. On the southwest elevation, there are two obtusely pointed stone doorways and three brick openings. The southeast elevation includes a double mullioned window with a hood mould above the gable and a triple mullioned window on the ground floor. Inside, there is a brick and timber framed partition with lath and plaster above, along with some 19th-century wooden stall partitions.
