Description
The Vectis Tavern is a 17th-century timber-framed building in West Cowes, refronted with stucco. A small gable on the north front and the portion behind it reveal the building's earlier origins, with the latter being jettied on the first floor. The side facing Town Quay is faced with painted brick and plaster, while the jettied portion has tarred weatherboarding. The roof is tiled. The building is one storey high with attics, and has a 1:2 window arrangement with sash windows lacking glazing bars. A later 19th-century bar front features pilasters.
