Description

The granary at Chawton Farm is an 18th-century structure. It is timber-framed and partly clad in weatherboarding, with sections replaced by corrugated iron sheeting. The gabled roof is also covered in corrugated iron sheeting. This large granary, which is likely 5 by 4 bays, stands on mushroom-shaped staddle stones. It is a larger than usual example of an Isle of Wight granary.
