Description
This building is a barn with stabling and a cartshed located to the southeast of Luccombe Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a half-hipped roof that is now covered with corrugated iron. The northern section serves as stabling, which includes a hayloft above, with openings at both the top and bottom. There is a central cart entrance to the barn, which consists of two bays and has an angled queen strut roof with a renewed structure that includes two tiers of rafters. Attached to the north is a 19th-century stone cartshed that has four bays and a half-hipped slate roof. The cartshed is open-fronted, supported by square piers and bolted knees, with walls that have been repaired using breeze blocks. This building is included for its group value.
