Description

The clock tower on the Esplanade in Ventnor was built around the 1860s. It is made of painted ashlar and features pointed arch panels on each side of the shaft, which has stop-chamfered corners. The tower stands on a square plinth and has a gabled clock stage at the top, which is topped with a stone roof. Below the clock stage is a moulded string, and there are round dials on each side of the tower, although the clock faces have been replaced. The metal spike finial is missing.
