Description
129 High Street is a late 18th century or early 19th century terraced house that includes a ground-floor shop.
The main, south-facing front is rendered and designed to look like ashlar stone. The western gable end is covered with slate above the adjacent building. The building features a longitudinal pitched roof over the front section, with an M-shaped section extending at right angles to the north, both covered in slate.
The front section of the building is rectangular in shape and oriented north to south, with extensions to the north made in multiple phases.
The principal elevation stands three storeys high and is three bays wide. The ground floor is taken up by a modern shopfront. Above this, the first and second floors are divided by a platband. The window openings have block cills, with six-over-six sash frames on the first floor and three-over-three sash frames on the second floor. There is a moulded eaves cornice with a plain frieze and a parapet at the top.
