Description
Old Alverstone Cottages is an early 18th century farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages. The building is two storeys high with attics and features five windows. It is constructed from red brick with grey headers, set on a stone base, and has long and short stone quoins. Each side of the central first-floor window displays a diamond pattern of grey headers. The roof is tiled, with gable ends at both the north and south, complete with kneelers and attic windows. The windows are casement style, and there is a stringcourse running along the building. The central doorcase is simple, with a quoined surround and bears the date 1716 in stone figures.
