Description
Hanover House is a 17th-century lobby entrance house that was refronted in the 19th century and altered in the 20th century. The front is covered in stucco, and the roof features lower courses of stone slates with tiles above, along with an off-central brick chimneystack. The gable ends have kneelers. The house has irregular fenestration, primarily consisting of casements, although the ground floor includes two sash windows. There is a gabled weather porch with kneelers. The left elevation features a 20th-century bay window. Inside, the ground floor left room has a beam with a 2-inch chamfer and lamb's tongue stops, along with a 17th-century stone fireplace that has a four-centred arch and blank spandrels. The right side room also contains a beam with a lamb's tongue stop and a stone fireplace, and there is an additional stone fireplace on the first floor.
