Description
The gates, piers, railings, and side drive gates to Prince of Wales Lodge, located on York Avenue in East Cowes, date from around 1845-1846. They feature ornate cast iron gate piers with a square section, decorated with interlaced circles on the panels and cornice caps. Similar piers flank the footpaths on either side, although the main gates have been removed. There is a section of iron fencing at a right angle to the north, showcasing intricate ironwork between the rails at the base. The side drive gates also have similar rails, an arched crosspiece, and square section gate piers with intricate open work and pyramid caps.
