Description
Ford Mill House is a house that was originally a mill house, dated 1618, and later extended in the 19th century. It is constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble and features a slate roof with end brick chimneystacks. The original section of the house is two storeys high with three windows. To the west, there is a gabled projection with kneelers and a blocked attic window that displays the date 1618 and the initials N.N. The 17th century doorcase has a four-centred arch and contains an early 19th century six flush panelled door. The 19th century extension to the west is also two storeys with three windows, built in stone rubble and topped with a slate roof.
Attached to the northwest is a 17th century outbuilding that is two storeys high, made of stone rubble, and has a roof covered with corrugated iron sheeting. This outbuilding features a three-light mullioned window with quarries. To the northeast, there is an early 19th century outbuilding made of stone rubble, also with a slate roof and a brick chimneystack. This outbuilding is two storeys high, with a casement window and a planked loading door on the first floor, and a triple casement with a cambered head on the ground floor.
