Description

1-7 Pelham Square is a group of terraced houses dating from around 1860. The buildings are constructed of stucco, with tile roofs on numbers 1 and 3-6, asbestos slate on number 2, and Welsh slate on number 7. They are three storeys high, with a basement, and have a single window range.

The houses feature a flat-arched entrance, recessed under pilasters and an entablature. Number 6 has an early 20th-century hood. A full-height, segmental bay is present, with stepped capitals to the angle mullions. The original sash windows are retained in numbers 1 and 5-7. Bracketed eaves and party wall stacks are also visible.

The interior has not been inspected. According to Carder's Encyclopaedia of Brighton, these houses are significant examples of 19th-century Brighton architecture.
