Description

No. 36, North Road is a detached house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of cobbles, dressed flint, and brick, with brick dressings and a tile roof. The house is two storeys high with dormers in the attic, and has four windows at the front. The ground floor features a base of cobbles, a brick sill band, and then alternating courses of cobbles and squared flint up to a brick dentil cornice. A flat-arched entrance has an overlight with decorative glazing, and a panelled door within a doorcase that features a broken pediment (although the doorcase is likely a replacement). All windows are segmental-arched, with brick dressings acting as quoins. There are two hipped dormers and end stacks. The interior was not inspected.
