Description
Honeysuckle Cottage is a house dating from around 1700, which was refronted in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted stucco on the front. The roof is gabled and covered with slate, sloping down to the ground floor at the rear, featuring three square dormers with lead cheeks.
The building has a two-cell plan and stands two storeys tall. There are two tall rectangular brick chimneys at each end, adorned with dentilled cornices and topped with clay pots. The front facade, facing the road to the south, is symmetrical and consists of three bays. On the first floor, there are 19th-century, two-light casement windows. The ground floor features sash windows with moulded, nearly flush frames; the left window has glazing bars while the right window has marginal glazing. The central door has a glazed upper part with Gothic bars and a lower part with carved panels. A late 20th-century glazed porch with a pediment and two circular columns enhances the entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
