Description

This is a row of cottages, likely dating to the late 18th century, located in Wallington. The building comprises two parallel ranges. A lease for the site dates back to January 10, 1684, involving Sir Nicholas Carew, Sir Richard Spencer, Baronet Anthony Bowyer, and John Spencer. The cottages have red plain tile roofs with short square stacks, two to each range, rising from the ridges. The front is constructed of red brick, topped with a brick dentil eaves cornice. The windows are sash windows with frames and glazing bars, and horns. Doors are located in the returns to Nos 3 and 9, while access to Nos 5 and 7 is through doorways in the centre, each framed by an architrave and a flat hood. No 5 has a 4-panelled door, and No 7 has a door with its upper two panels glazed. The interior has not been inspected.
