Description

South End Cottage and White Cottage date to the late 18th century. They were likely built as lodges or a stable and coachman's house, originally serving South End House, which was located on Montpelier Row. The two cottages have identical facades facing each other across a courtyard. They are each two storeys high and three bays wide, featuring a central open pediment which is broken by a round-headed window above the doorway. South End Cottage is constructed of brown brick with red dressings, while White Cottage has been painted white and has some altered windows. Both have hipped slate roofs.
