Description

The former artisans' workshops at Normansfield Hospital were built in the late 19th century. They are constructed of yellow stock brick with red brick dressings and bands, topped with red tiled pitched roofs. This long, single-storey block features red brick cambered arches above three-light transom and mullion windows, with doors that are part-glazed. The interiors are plain and functional. These workshops were specifically designed for the use of disabled patients and are notable for being the first workshops built specifically for disabled people.
