Description
This is a terrace of houses located on Church Road in Mitcham, dating from the early to mid 18th century. The buildings are constructed of stuccoed brick, although the stucco has been removed from No 64, which is currently under restoration. They feature double pitched gabled mansard roofs covered with plain tiles and consist of two storeys plus dormers.
Nos 60 and 62 form a symmetrical composition with five bays, while No 64 has three bays. The central entrance serves Nos 60 and 62, while No 64 has its entrance on the left side. All three houses have matching pilastered doorcases with open pediments and 'Gothick' fanlights. Nos 60 and 62 have raised and fielded six-panelled doors, while No 64 has a mid-19th century panelled door.
The windows are square-headed with flush frames and sashes, and there are flat-topped dormers. Bands run between the storeys and above the first floor, and there is a coped parapet along the top. Two tall chimneys are present. No 64 also features later attached wrought iron railings and a gate. Inside, the houses have turned baluster staircases.
