Description
The retaining wall to the south of Kenry House is a significant structure from the late 18th century to early 19th century. This massive brick wall was originally built to support the garden in front of Kenry House, although the garden is now occupied by Kingston University buildings, which were formerly Kingston Polytechnic. The wall is made of plum brick and measures approximately 150 metres in length and 3 to 4 metres in height. It features thick, sloping brick buttresses that are each 3 to 4 feet wide.
