Description

The boundary walls of Richmond Park have origins dating back to the 17th century, with later rebuilding. The park was first enclosed by Charles I, and the boundary wall was completed in 1637. The wall stands about 8 feet high and is constructed of brown, red, and other bricks, featuring buttresses in certain areas and chamfered coping. It extends from the borough boundary south of Ladderstile Gate to the borough boundary at Beverley Bridge.
