Description

The Mortuary Chapels, built in the mid-19th century, are a symmetrical Gothic structure located in Kingston Cemetery on Bonner Hill Road. The design features twin chapels, with the Church of England chapel on the west side and a non-conformist chapel on the east, positioned on either side of a carriageway. The chapels are constructed from ragstone and topped with steeply pitched slate roofs. Each chapel has north and south windows consisting of three lights with reticulated tracery. The carriageway is adorned with a ribbed vault and has two-centred arches on the north and south sides. Above the carriageway, there is an open octagonal lantern topped with a stone spire.
