Description
The Old Blue School is an early 19th-century building located in Lower Square, Isleworth. It is two storeys tall and constructed of gault brick. On the first floor, there are six stone mullioned windows, each featuring pointed lights under square heads. The ground floor has five windows, four of which have centred heads, also with stone mullions and pointed lights. The centre of the ground floor projects slightly. There are two stone cornice bands between the storeys, and the building is topped with a cornice and a battlemented parapet. An irregular octagonal brick tower rises from the roof, which includes a clock dial in the lower section and a pointed belfry window in the upper section. The tower is capped with an original Portland stone dome and a wrought iron weather vane inscribed with "IPS."
