Description
The Hudson and Austin Memorials are two chest tombs located approximately 26 metres south-west of the south porch of the Church of St Nicholas. They date from the mid to late 18th century and are made of limestone. The chest tomb on the east commemorates Mary Hudson, who died in 1770. It features a moulded plinth and cornice, oval inscription panels, and an urn that has been removed from a diagonally-set pedestal on top of the tomb. The mid-18th century chest tomb to the west commemorates Mary Austin and includes a moulded plinth and cornice, with gadrooned corner balusters flanking a fielded inscription panel.
