Description

Howcroft is a rear part of a 16th-century timber-framed house located on the north side of High Street in Harmondsworth. The rear elevation features exposed stout timber framing with plaster filling and some painted brick. The building has two storeys and two windows. The roof has been renewed with machine tiles. Inside, there is much exposed timber, including stout posts marked with Roman joiners' numbers and chamfered beams. Some timbers have been reused in different locations. The roof structure includes a side purlin roof with some remaining windbraces and sprocketed eaves, although part of the roof has been rebuilt. The front of the building is now completely covered by a modern house.
