Description
The Sub Station of Essex Water Company, located on Dagenham Road, is a Grade II listed building constructed after 1897. This Italianate pumping station features a 'T' plan design made of stock brick, characterized by a heavy bracketed cornice and hipped slated roofs. It has tall semi-circular headed windows and doors, each adorned with rounded section label mouldings. A band course runs at the springing of the tall window openings, and the main entrance on the south front is framed by a semi-circular headed arch, with steps leading up to it.
