Description
The Observatory Married Quarters is an early 19th-century building that has undergone some alterations. It features a one-storey and basement east front with six windows. The roof is moderately low pitched, hipped, and covered with slate, showcasing deep eaves. A central pedimented gable adds to its architectural interest. The building is constructed from multicoloured stock brick and has a brick cornice in two planes. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged brick arches, although all but two of the windows have been replaced. There is a basement plinth, and the rear of the building has additions that include entrances.
