Description
The Church of St John the Baptist is a church built around 1860, designed by James Piers St Aubyn. It features yellow brick with red and blue brick decoration and has a pitched slate roof that extends to the eaves. The church is designed in the Geometrical Gothic style and consists of a three-bay nave without aisles and a lower chancel with two bays. There is a southwest porch and a fleche at the west end of the nave. The interior includes a timber roof and lancet windows in the chancel, two-light plate traceried windows in the nave, and a three-light window at the east end. The church retains a set of stained glass windows by Heaton, Butler and Bayne, which contributes to its listing.
