Description

St Luke's Vicarage, including the Vicarage Flat, was built around 1900 by James Brooks. This two-storey building with an attic features irregular window arrangements. The west front has three and five windows, topped by a massive high-pitched hipped tiled roof made up of four parallel ridges that meet halfway down. The first floor is tile-hung with a noticeable batter, and it has an overhanging stone cill band above the brick ground floor, which includes stone dressings and moulded brick. A continuous hoodmould creates pointed arches over the windows, some of which have plate trefoil heads. The longer south front is styled similarly but includes two projecting ground floor bows, a large five-light landing window above a pointed doorway, and a small store-framed, two-level window to the left of the doorway.
