Description

37 The Avenue is a house built around 1876, designed by E W Godwin and adopted by W Wilson. It features red and yellow brickwork, is partly tile hung, and has a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-storey gabled bay on the return elevation and a flat-roofed wing at the rear that has been altered. There is a wooden railing around the roof of this wing, which faces Marlborough Crescent. Additionally, there is a two-storey bay facing The Avenue. This house is particularly significant as one of the first built in Bedford Park and was designed by the estate's first architect.
