Description

Robins Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 12 meters south of the Church of St Mary. It is possibly designed by Sir John Soane and commemorates John Robins, who died in 1831. The memorial is made of limestone and features an urn with acanthus-leaf carving on top of a heraldic shield, which is flanked by palm fronds and is part of a sarcophagus-shaped chest tomb. John Robins was a furniture supplier to Sir John Soane, who also designed Robins' house at Norwood Hall.
