Description

Thorncote is a house dating to circa 1888, built in the Dutch Bedford Park style. It is two and three storeys high and has two windows, with pedimented gables. The house features multipaned sash windows, alongside other elements characteristic of Queen Anne and Dutch architectural styles. It has a hipped tile roof. The interior is reported to contain decorative chimney pieces, Morris wallpapers, and De Morgan tiles. Thorncote was the home of L.A. Shuffrey, author of The English Fireplace.
