Description

The pair of houses at 1 and 3 Blenheim Road date to circa 1878 and represent a variation of R.N. Shaw’s third semi-detached design. They are constructed of red and yellow brick, with a coved eaves cornice and tiled roofs. Each house has two windows, with a three-storied gabled bay situated centrally, which is roughcast. The top storey projects, featuring a paired window and a pedimented gable. The houses have doors with hoods, and are approached by timber gates and railings supported by timber piers and a low brick wall. The pair remains largely unaltered, although No. 3 was formerly occupied by W.B. Yeats.
