Description
The Church of St Mary in Addington is a Grade I listed building. The chancel and nave were constructed in 1080, with a chancel window added in 1110 and a narrow south aisle introduced in 1210. The church underwent restorations in 1848 and again in 1876 by St Aubyn, which included work on the north arcade. The north aisle, south porch, and tower are from the 19th century, although part of the tower dates back to around 1773 and is made of brick. Inside, there are brasses from 1509, 1540, and 1544, as well as notable 17th and 18th-century monuments in the chancel, including several dedicated to the Trecothick family.
